It was mid afternoon, and the year was 2016 when I unknowingly stepped into the world of real estate whilst trying to sell one of my dad’s property on my WhatsApp status.
Interesting, right? Walk with me. My dad needed money for a particular issue and decided he was going to sell one of his properties to raise the money. In my willingness to help, I got the property details and posted it on my WhatsApp status.
I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew, according to my dad, was that someone would pay a specific amount of money, and in return, the property now belonged to them. It sounded strange, confusing yet exciting, and I was eager to experience the transaction.
Time went by, and at the first ding of my phone, I dashed across our living room straight to the dinning room where I had left my phone in high hopes that someone saw it and was going to pay for it.

Alas! It was just my friend Feyi, who was surprised to see my post. He said, “Are you now into real estate?” I saw the message, and my confusion trippled. Then I said, “What is real estate?” He then said, “Don’t worry, I will introduce you to someone in the real estate sector.”
I was introduced to Mr Femi, and he was intrigued by my curiosity. He took his time to explain to me and then invited me to join his team, but as a 300-level industrial chemistry student then, I declined and chose to focus on school first.
I kept the dream in my heart and stayed in touch with Mr Femi. In 2018, as I was about to round up my university education, I started going to Herbet Macauly Library in Yaba, Lagos, to read books on real estate and whilst prospecting on social media. By 2019, during my youth service program, I interned with a real estate brand that I found whilst searching online because I knew I needed to gain hands-on experience.
I had a successful internship, and I took a step futher in creating SHELTERY as a dedicated platform for me to list properties under my name, and over the course of 5 years, I achieved remarkable growth, earned numerous awards and nominations.
I entered the market with innovative strategies, leveraging the principles of creativity, excellence, integrity, and intelligence. My expertise positioned me as a go-to consultant for real estate inquiries and a host for estate launches and property handover ceremonies. Additionally, I have trained over 5,000 realtors through direct coaching and seminars, both organized independently and in collaboration with numerous real estate organizations.
Throughout this journey, I gained a profound understanding of my strengths and weaknesses, leading to a fulfilling realization of my potential as an achiever.
This is my story, and though I never sold my dad’s property, I became an architect of people’s dreams, making real estate transactions effortless for clients.
